The LPLV is similar to the LPL rupture disc but will withstand full vacuum.
It is a composite rupture disc, constructed with a fluoropolymer outlet liner, metallic vacuum support, metallic top section, and fluoropolymer seal on the process side. Using fluoropolymer on both inlet and outlet sides helps protect the vacuum support and top section from corrosive media and reduces buildup. The Composite Rupture Disc is recommended for use in systems that have a maximum operating pressure of up to 80% of the rupture disc’s marked burst pressure.
It is ideal for primary and secondary system relief protection, and an optional non-fragmenting design provides an effective means of fugitive emission control when used to isolate a safety relief valve.
The LPLV includes a high-visibility flow direction tag for easy installation, correct orientation, and at-a-glance inspection. All LPLV rupture discs 1″ (25 mm) nominal size and above include a flow direction tag.
Our seven-hole pattern
Our composite rupture discs are designed with a seven-hole pattern at the apex of the rupture disc dome and six radiating precut sections. Used in conjunction with a non-metallic or fluoropolymer seal, these elements prevent fragmentation when rupturing.
The seven-hole pattern allows construction with heavier materials, resulting in a higher maximum recommended operating ratio – up to 80%.
Nominal sizes: 1″-12″ (25-300 mm)
Seating configuration: 30° angular seat
Ideal for full bolted, insert, and union rupture disc holders.
Burst pressure range: 8-1,440 psig (0,552-99,3 barg)

Manufacturing range: See table 2, Manufacturing Ranges
Special and reduced manufacturing ranges are available upon request.
Available in a variety of materials to resist highly corrosive media and atmospheric conditions.
Specified and MIN/MAX Rating Types are also available.
We manufacture options and accessories to ensure our rupture discs perform in any environment. Consult a representative if you aren’t sure which you need.
The design of the LPLV allows for the use of highly corrosion resistant seal materials such as fluoropolymer or exotic metallic materials. The burst rating of the rupture disc is determined by the slotted metal top section, so the seal or liner can be made of thin corrosion resistant materials and still provide a wide range of burst pressures.
Cleaning
This disc is available to be cleaned for oxygen or chlorine service.
Corrosion resistance
We provide corrosion resistant fluoropolymer disc liners and coatings when necessary. Other protective materials available on request.
Dent protectors
Guard your rupture disc with a dent protector if the outlet dome (vent side) is exposed or at risk of damage.
Gaskets
Get a tight seal, even on scratched or pitted disc holders, by installing a gasket.
Handling supports
Improper handling during installation can affect your disc’s burst pressure setting. Use handling supports when installing thin or delicate rupture discs to prevent damage.
Protective rings
Prevent damage to fragile rupture discs and delicate liners from foreign material in the seating area by adding a protective ring.
Vacuum supports
Protect your rupture disc from vacuum conditions with a vacuum support. Consult your LaMOT rep if you need to protect against back pressure higher than 14.7 psig (1,01 barg).
Vacuum supports are permanently attached to ensure proper installation.
